Great Stroke: Waldschmidt Gets 5 Hits
Tuesday, July 1st , 2025
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Ryan Waldschmidt is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The monster effort from the 22-year-old left fielder helped the Akron RubberDucks get the win, 11-1.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Fisher Cats manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Ryan Waldschmidt hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season, Waldschmidt has hit at a .429 clip with 9 RBIs, 1 home runs and 7 runs scored.
