Baysox Tears Smacks 5 Hits Sunday, July 27th , 2025 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Kavares Tears, it came around today. The 22-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Prince George's Stadium to pace the 17-1 Bowie Baysox victory over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Binghamton skipper told reporters in the press room that "Tears deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Tears hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Kavares Tears doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. In this current campaign Tears is hitting at a .288 clip with 1 home run and 9 RBIs. |
