Erie Held Hitless by Hidalgo Friday, April 26th , 2024 Alejandro Hidalgo relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold Erie hitless in a win, 9-0, at NYSEG Stadium. "Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the SeaWolves off balance and guessing the whole game." The 20-year-old starter rung up 12 strikeouts and 2 walks in whipping the SeaWolves. "When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," Erie skipper said. |
