Moreno Hit String Snapped at 24 Tuesday, July 2nd , 2024 The 24-game hitting streak is over. Akron RubberDucks catcher Gabriel Moreno failed to get a hit against the Erie SeaWolves and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 24-year-old went 0-for-1 in his club's 10-5 victory over the SeaWolves at UPMC Park. "I think I only made it to 24 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak." Thus far this season in 69 games, Moreno is batting .385 with 2 home runs, 48 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He has 95 hits in 247 at-bats. |
