Ruiz Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Sunday, September 14th , 2025 The number just keeps getting higher. Lakeland left fielder Jorge Ruiz has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 1 hit in 4 at-bats as the Lakeland won the game, 6-0, over the Tampa Tarpons at George M. Steinbrenner Field. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Tampa manager said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Jorge Ruiz flied out in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. For the year, Ruiz is batting .408 with 167 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 97 times and driven in 67. |
