Flying Tigers Move on to Round 2 Tuesday, September 23rd , 2025 It's a sweet sweep for the Lakeland Flying Tigers and they have won the Round 1. The Palm Beach Cardinals were not able to keep pace with the Flying Tigers and dropped the series in short order, losing, 18-2, in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Palm Beach manager . It's now on to the Round 2 for Lakeland after their 4-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was third baseman Yoeilin Cespedes, who was named MVP. For the series, Cespedes hit .579 with a .636 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Lakeland Flying Tigers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Bradenton Marauders - Dunedin Blue Jays series. Dunedin leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
