Almonte Rips Fort Myers for 5 Hits Thursday, June 5th , 2025 It was a hits blitz for Ariel Almonte at Hammond Stadium. The Dunedin Blue Jays right fielder tore into the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Mighty Mussels swept past the Blue Jays, 9-7, to ruin Almonte's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Dunedin manager explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Ariel was nice but it wasn't enough." Ariel Almonte hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season, Almonte is batting .368 with 3 home runs. His totals include 46 RBIs and 38 runs scored. |
