Hits Blitz for Mets Conine Friday, August 22nd , 2025 In an outing that will go down in the annals of league history, Syracuse left fielder Griffin Conine hit for the cycle, as the Mets marched to victory over the Rochester Red Wings, 31-5. Conine collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, including 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run. He added 1 RBI and 3 runs scored to help Syracuse take the NBT Bank Stadium contest. "It was the last thing on my mind, really," Conine said. "I'm out there trying to get a blooper or a walk or whatever might help the team. Even if I had wanted to, hitting for the cycle is probably as much about luck as about skill anyway." Griffin Conine grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nick Swiney in the 6th and tripled in the 8th. Currently Conine is batting .343 with 48 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 23 runs and scored 32 times. |
