IronPigs Move on to Round 3

The Round 2 may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, however, are not complaining.
The IronPigs were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Columbus Clippers to advance to the Round 3.
Lehigh Valley won the final game by a 6-4 count at Huntington Park and the series 3-1.
IronPigs second baseman Juan Brito was named series MVP, as he hit .357 with a .500 on-base percentage. He added 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"It's not going to be the last time Columbus makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Brito said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day."
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will play against the Omaha Storm Chasers in the next round. Omaha won their series against the Louisville Bats 3 games to 1. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.

Omaha Takes Round 2

After their 12-3 win today at Louisville Slugger Field over the Louisville Bats, the Omaha Storm Chasers will advance to the Round 3. Omaha won the series by a 3-1 margin.
Leading the way for the Storm Chasers was shortstop Chase Meidroth, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP.
"I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus."
The Omaha Storm Chasers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs - Columbus Clippers series. Lehigh Valley leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
