Sheets Sensational, 5-for-5
Tuesday, June 11th , 2024
The Gwinnett Stripers stopped the Columbus Clippers by a score of 12-2 at Coolray Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Gavin Sheets. The 28-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Sheets said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Sheets did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Clippers.
"Not much that I can say," offered Columbus manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Gavin Sheets singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
This year, Sheets is batting .344 with 14 home runs and 32 RBIs.

Jordan Slams 5 Hits for Syracuse
Monday, June 10th , 2024
