Scranton WB Snaps Mayer Streak at 21 Friday, August 29th , 2025 The RailRiders stopped Marcelo Mayer's 21-game hitting streak at Coca-Cola Park, but they couldn't stop the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, falling by the score of 10-9. Mayer didn't get a hit for the first time in weeks, finishing 0-for-5. "It's just as well," IronPigs manager said. "We couldn't spend the whole season going out of our way not to jinx him." To date Mayer has chalked up a .309 average with 9 home runs, driven in 65 runs and scored 70 times. |
