Canzone Goes 5-for-5 Against Lehigh Valley Tuesday, September 9th , 2025 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Dominic Canzone, it came around today. The 28-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Coca-Cola Park to pace the 10-6 Syracuse Mets victory over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Lehigh Valley skipper told reporters in the press room that "Canzone deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Canzone hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Dominic Canzone singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Victor Santos in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Vladimir Gutierrez in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Canzone is hitting .336 in 2025 with 125 RBIs and 37 home runs. |
