3-HR Day for Johnson Friday, May 30th , 2025 Omaha Storm Chasers left fielder Ivan Johnson put on a dazzling display of power at Werner Park against the Iowa Cubs. In the 8-4 Storm Chasers victory, Johnson penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Iowa manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 26-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Johnson said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Ivan Johnson struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Chris Murphy in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th. Thus far this year, Johnson has hit .377 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs. |
