Bang-up Game: Alford Slams 3 Homers Monday, July 28th , 2025 Anthony Alford brutalized the Norfolk Tides pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 9-3 Jacksonville victory at Harbor Park. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp left fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 4-for-4 with 8 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Anthony Alford today," Tides manager said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Anthony Alford hit a two-run home run off Trevor Martin in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 8th. Thus far this season, Alford is hitting .289 with 21 home runs, 65 RBIs and 72 runs scored. He has 100 hits in 346 at-bats and has played in 91 games. |
