Thompson Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Thursday, July 31st , 2025 Win or lose, Bubba Thompson just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Toledo Mud Hens center fielder went 1-for-5, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 9-5, by the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Bubba Thompson struck out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Tyler Stuart in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. Thus far this year, Thompson has hit .305 with 11 home runs and 39 RBIs. |
