García Wins AAA E Top Pitcher Honors Monday, July 1st , 2024 The Scranton WB RailRiders celebrated today after the news filtered through the clubhouse that Rony García had been selected as June's Triple-A East Pitcher of the Month. García's zest for the game has been a frequent topic on the sports pages and his numbers of late have made his fans even more enthusiastic. "Our coaching staff really helps me prepare well," García said, "and the fans feed off good pitching. Your pitches just seem to have that extra pop to them when the fans are behind you and you feel confident you can get outs." García tossed 43 innings last month, holding opponents to a .163 average while striking out 45 batters. In 6 starting assignments he came away with a 5-0 record, putting together an ERA of 0.84. This year, García has made 16 starts, thrown 105.2 innings, fanned 114 batters and walked 31. His won-lost record is 10-2 with a 2.64 ERA. |
