Clippers Win Round 1 Thursday, September 12th , 2024 The Columbus Clippers triumphed 2-1 over the Rochester Red Wings at Huntington Park in the Round 1 to capture it 3-1. The victory advanced the Clippers to the Round 2. For his superb play in the series, Clippers center fielder Monte Harrison garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .500, scoring 4 runs and batting in 6. "Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the Round 3," Harrison said later. "I'll get to work on that." The Columbus Clippers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Scranton WB RailRiders - Buffalo Bisons series. Buffalo leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
