Knights Move on to Round 2 Thursday, September 12th , 2024 The championship aspirations of the Charlotte Knights are still alive and well, while the Lehigh Valley IronPigs are left to wait until next year. Charlotte won the clinching game of the Round 1 10-4 over Lehigh Valley at Coca-Cola Park, to win the series 3-1. "You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said second baseman Addison Barger, who paced the Charlotte offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit." Barger claimed the MVP by racking up 6 hits for a .400 average, with a .438 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Charlotte Knights don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Norfolk Tides - Iowa Cubs series. Iowa leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
