Four-bagger Feast: DeLuca Slugs 3 for Rochester Sunday, May 4th , 2025 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the St. Paul Saints. Rochester center fielder Jonny DeLuca tripled up on the home runs to propel the Red Wings to a win, 22-3, at Frontier Field. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," St. Paul manager said. "DeLuca hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, DeLuca collected 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 11 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Jonny DeLuca hit a two-run home run off Troy Melton in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. This year, DeLuca is batting .342 with 25 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 12 times and has batted in 29 runs. |
