Kjerstad Bangs 3 HR Against Sugar Land Thursday, May 9th , 2024 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Sugar Land Skeeters. Salt Lake left fielder Heston Kjerstad tripled up on the home runs to propel the Bees to a win, 16-3, at Smith's Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Sugar Land manager said. "Kjerstad hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Kjerstad collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Heston Kjerstad flied out in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Ljay Newsome in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th. Thus far this season, Kjerstad is hitting .261 with 3 home runs, 15 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 24 hits in 92 at-bats and has played in 25 games. |
