Yepez Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Tuesday, September 3rd , 2024
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Juan Yepez did it again, bashing 3 hits in the contest at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. For the last 20 games in a row, the 26-year-old first baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Oklahoma City Dodgers beat the Round Rock Express, 9-5.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Yepez told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Oklahoma City clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Juan Yepez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and hit an RBI single in the 6th.
This year, Yepez has socked 92 hits in 267 at-bats for a .345 average with 23 home runs. He is getting on base at a .406 pace and his totals also include 80 RBIs and 59 runs scored.
