It's a No-No for Mace
Thursday, July 10th , 2025
The Tulsa Drillers were just hoping for a solid outing from Tommy Mace. Instead, they got something special.
The 26-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Corpus Christi Hooks, helping the Drillers take the 10-0 win.
"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Drillers. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."
Mace's repertoire has a fastball, curveball, changeup, and slider, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Corpus Christi hitters off balance all game long. The Tulsa hurler fanned 15 and walked 0 in his history-making performance.
"His fastball looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Corpus Christi manager joked after the game.
For the year, Mace has compiled a 1-3 record with a 5.79 ERA.
