Super Swinger -- Ramirez Slams 5 Hits Friday, May 2nd , 2025 Today at Whataburger Field, Pedro Ramirez put on an impressive display. The Corpus Christi Hooks left fielder tagged Northwest Arkansas pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals by the score of 7-4. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Ramirez said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Hooks manager was unwilling to offer the left fielder much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "Pedro told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager said. Pedro Ramirez singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Currently Ramirez is hitting .359 and has collected no home runs, 2 RBIs and scored 10 times, while playing in 16 games. |
