3-HR Binge for Blanco Jr. Against Tri-City Sunday, August 6th , 2023 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Tri-City Dust Devils today. Spokane first baseman Tony Blanco Jr. tripled up on the home runs to propel the Indians to the 12-9 win at Gesa Stadium. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Tri-City manager said. "Blanco Jr. hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Blanco Jr. collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Tony Blanco Jr. flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th. In 107 games this season Blanco Jr. has compiled a .285 batting average with 101 hits and 24 home runs. He has also scored 51 times and knocked in 73 runs. |
