A+ E Hands Out Reliever of the Year Wednesday, October 11th , 2023 Hansel Rodriguez said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 26 years old. But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Hudson Valley Renegades rising star has won the High-A East Reliever of the Year for 2023. He captured the award on the strength of his 1.86 ERA over 53.1 innings. He also had 28 saves in 51 relief appearances, 49 strikeouts and only 19 walks. He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Dakota Mekkes of the Asheville Tourists finished second in voting, while Brendon Little of the Greenville Drive finished third.
