Hit Streak Now at 20 for Martin Wednesday, June 11th , 2025 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Walker Martin did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. For the last 20 games in a row, the 21-year-old shortstop has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Asheville Tourists beat the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 4-2. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Martin told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Asheville clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Walker Martin singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. This season in 52 games, Martin has hit at a .327 clip with 67 hits, 6 home runs, 34 RBIs and 31 runs scored. |
