Wilmington Snaps Martin Streak at 20 Thursday, June 12th , 2025 It just wasn't Walker Martin's day. The Asheville Tourists grabbed the 9-3 win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks, but the Blue Rocks mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 20-game hitting streak of Tourists shortstop Walker Martin. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Martin," Wilmington manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Tourists have other hitters and they did their job today." Thus far this year, Martin is hitting .322 with 6 home runs, 34 RBIs and 33 runs scored. |
