Saturday, May 4th , 2024
Brian [UNRATED] Shaffer of the Winston-Salem Dash put on a pitching clinic at Truist Stadium, as he struck out 17 Bowling Green Hot Rods in a 2-0 victory. Shaffer, who is tied for 2nd in the A+ E in innings pitched with 33.2, was simply magnificent, holding the Hot Rods to 1 hit. He walked 2.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Shaffer said, "but eventually my slider really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Shaffer's performance, Dash manager shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
For the season, Shaffer has logged 2 wins and 1 loss and struck out 60 batters in 33.2 innings while compiling a 1.34 ERA.
