Tourists Blank Brooklyn, DeLucia Winner
Wednesday, August 28th , 2024
The Brooklyn Cyclones manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Asheville Tourists. The Cyclones were overpowered by Asheville starter Dylan DeLucia, who hurled his club to victory, 7-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," said.
Over 9 innings, DeLucia blanked Brooklyn on 1 hit with no walks and 12 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," DeLucia said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
To date this season, DeLucia has a record of 15 wins and 3 losses and a 1.08 ERA. He has appeared in 26 games and struck out 205 in 149.1 innings.
