Blue Rocks Cruise to Round 2 with Sweep Sunday, September 15th , 2024 The Wilmington Blue Rocks outclassed the Jersey Shore BlueClaws in all facets of the game throughout the A+ E Round 1. The end result was a Wilmington series sweep to advance to the Round 2, capped off by a 3-1 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said center fielder Justin Crawford, who hit .444 in the series. Crawford's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .500 on-base percentage and had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Wilmington Blue Rocks don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Asheville Tourists - Winston-Salem Dash series. Asheville leads the series 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
