Whitecaps Advance to Round 2 Thursday, September 25th , 2025 The sweet swing of Luis Lara has led his team through the Round 1. The West Michigan Whitecaps star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Great Lakes Loons to advance to the Round 2. The Whitecaps won the final game at LMCU Ballpark by a score of 5-4 and the series 4-3. "I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Lara. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs." For the series, Lara hit .407 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 6 runs. The West Michigan Whitecaps will play against the Cedar Rapids Kernels in the next round. Cedar Rapids won their series against the Beloit Snappers 4 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
