West Michigan Tops Cedar Rapids Thursday, October 2nd , 2025 This is the time of the baseball season when grown men are reduced to tears. This year, the West Michigan Whitecaps were shedding tears of joy and the Cedar Rapids Kernels those of sorrow. The Whitecaps topped the Kernels today 10-3 at Veterans Memorial Stadium and locked up their 3rd High-A Central Round 2 championship, winning the series 4-1. "To come this far and leave empty-handed is not easy," said Cedar Rapids manager . The Whitecaps finished the regular season in the East with a 116-24 record, ending up in first place in the division standings. |
