Round 1 Goes the Distance, Great Lakes Prevails Thursday, September 21st , 2023 It took a while, but the Great Lakes Loons finally disposed of the West Michigan Whitecaps 12-2 in the series clincher at LMCU Ballpark. Winning the finale gave the Loons the series, 4-3. They will now advance to the Round 2. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Great Lakes first baseman A.J. Vukovich. He batted .448 in the series, collecting 5 RBIs and scoring 9 runs. The Great Lakes Loons will play against the South Bend Cubs in the next round. South Bend won their series against the Quad Cities River Bandits 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
