5-Hit Blitz by Salas Tuesday, May 27th , 2025 After a 5-hit effort to lead West Michigan's 19-1 victory over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, left fielder Jose Salas told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the High-A Central-level is really something special." The 22-year-old player earned his accolades at LMCU Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Timber Rattlers. "His swing is getting there," said Whitecaps skipper , who spoke glowingly of Salas after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jose did that to perfection." Jose Salas hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. |
