Friday, June 13th , 2025
After a 5-hit effort to lead West Michigan's 14-3 victory over the Quad Cities River Bandits, center fielder Dasan Brown told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the High-A Central-level is really something special."
The 23-year-old player earned his accolades at LMCU Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the River Bandits.
"His swing is getting there," said Whitecaps skipper , who spoke glowingly of Brown after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Dasan did that to perfection."
Dasan Brown singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
Brown is hitting .391 this year with no home runs and 16 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .509, 16 walks and scored 31 times.
