Figuereo Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games
Sunday, June 15th , 2025
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Gleider Figuereo did it again, bashing 4 hits in the contest at Jackson Field. For the last 20 games in a row, the 20-year-old third baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the West Michigan Whitecaps beat the Lansing Lugnuts, 20-5.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Figuereo told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the West Michigan clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Gleider Figuereo hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
This year, Figuereo has hit at a .457 pace and produced 36 RBIs, 5 home runs and scored 24 runs.
