In a game played at Parkview Field, the Great Lakes right fielder blistered the Fort Wayne TinCaps for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a good 26-0 victory. "Zapata was too tough to get out," TinCaps skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Gian Zapata struck out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. For the season, Zapata is hitting .500, batted in 10 runs with 2 home runs and 8 runs scored. |
