Lara on Fire: 6-for-6 for West Michigan Wednesday, July 9th , 2025 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 6-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Luis Lara, it came around today. The 20-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Parkview Field to pace the 9-3 West Michigan Whitecaps victory over the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Fort Wayne skipper told reporters in the press room that "Lara deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Lara hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Luis Lara tripled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Lara is currently batting .410 with 1 home run and 31 RBIs. |
