Hits Galore: Vukovich Drills 5 Hits Friday, June 30th , 2023 Great Lakes defeated Cedar Rapids today at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The star of the game for the Loons was first baseman A.J. Vukovich. His hitting heroics included a 5-for-6 day, paving the way for Great Lakes's 14-3 triumph over the Kernels. A.J. Vukovich singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this season Vukovich is hitting .374 with 5 home runs, 33 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 101 hits in 270 at-bats and has played in 69 games. |
