Visalia Wins Round 1

Members of the Visalia Rawhide couldn't hold back their emotions after beating the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the final game of the Round 1.
"It's just been such a roller coaster," said Rawhide starting pitcher Jim Unknown after the club's 7-0 win. "You play all season and then everything comes down to this one game. We know how easily we could have been on the other side of it."
The other side was a subdued Quakes clubhouse, where players packed up their belongings and headed home for the year, with a somber mood in the air.
For the series, Unknown was named MVP, as he had a 0.00 ERA over 7.1 innings pitched. He added 10 strikeouts and picked up 1 win.
The Visalia Rawhide will play against the Fresno Grizzlies in the next round. Fresno won their series against the Stockton Ports 4 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.

Fresno Advances to Round 2

The Fresno Grizzlies have soundly beaten the Stockton Ports to advance to the Round 2.
Fresno won the final game by a 4-2 score, completing the 4-0 sweep.
Fresno right-hander Jim Unknown was given series MVP honors for his strong efforts on the mound. For the series, Unknown had a 0.00 ERA over 7 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.
