Cleveland Downed, 4-2, by Twins
|
The Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians played an exciting game.
Brandon Pfaadt, who is tied for 4th in the AL in innings pitched with 44.1, had a strong outing for the Minnesota Twins against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Jose Alvarado, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
Minnesota used a timely hit from Evan Carter to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Twins ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"I'm happy we won," said Pfaadt. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
The loss drops Cleveland to 19-11.
