Rays Capture Close Win
The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Kansas City Royals, 6-5, at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay left fielder Calvin Mitchell had a superb performance. He was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tampa Bay pitcher Nick Sandlin got the win. He's now 1-3. Danny Coulombe was tagged with the loss. The loss drops Kansas City to 15-17.

Ty France was the walk-off hero for Tampa Bay. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rays designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Mitchell said in his postgame press conference.
