Tampa Bay Defeated by New York, 3-1
|
The New York Yankees went home winners at Yankee Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Ranger Suarez. Suarez stifled the Tampa Bay Rays, enabling New York to grab the 3-1 win. The win has New York at 15-17.
Nolan Gorman, who is tied for 6th in the AL in home runs with 10, took Tampa Bay hurler Erick Fedde deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Yankees on top, 2-0. In all, Gorman had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Gorman.
