Pirates Earn 4-2 Home Win
|
Pittsburgh pitcher Michael Grove did his part in helping his team beat the Colorado Rockies, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Grove, the winner, moves to 1-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 1 walk. Collin [UNRATED] McHugh earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 5th.
Donovan Walton hit a run-scoring triple off Frankie Montas in the bottom of the second, which put the Pirates in front, 1-0. Walton had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"We did a lot of things right," said Walton.
With the victory, the Pirates record stands at 14-19.
