Olson Slugs Mets to 7-5 Win
Behind a fine performance from Matt Olson, the New York Mets knocked off the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-5. Olson slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Mets. Tommy Kahnle picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Will Warren was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Blake Treinen, his 4th.

Olson had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 sinker from Will Warren, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Mets a 7-5 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Olson.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Olson, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

The third-place Mets have won 4 in a row.
