J.P. France pitched well, but the Boston Red Sox still lost the game, falling, 1-0, to the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. Hagen Danner snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 3-0 on the season. The loss makes Boston 16-18.

Had Kevin Newman not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Newman hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Twins.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Newman.
