Mariners Thwart Rangers, 2-1
|
Texas pitcher Matt Canterino gave the Mariners all they could handle, but in the end, Seattle left Globe Life Field with a win, 2-1. Canterino allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 6 innings. Zach Eflin was the winner. He's now 3-3. The loser was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Canterino. The Rangers drop to 16-18 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2025 season.
The Mariners got a big at-bat from first baseman Alec Burleson. For the game, Burleson went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Seattle a 2-1 lead.
"We were in it," said Texas manager Brian O. "We just didn't score enough runs."
