Braves Take Down Reds, 5-4
|
Getting a good performance from shortstop Corey Seager, the Atlanta Braves defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 5-4. Seager was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Braves. Picking up the save was Aaron Bummer, his 6th. Atlanta is now 11-24, Cincinnati 19-17.
Had Heliot Ramos not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ramos hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Braves.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Seager told reporters after the game.
