Angels Get 5-4 Win Versus Milwaukee
|
The Los Angeles Angels topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-4, in American League action at American Family Field. The standout performance belonged to Los Angeles pitcher and Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela, native Luis Garcia. The winner was Garcia. He threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Clayton Kershaw. Bryan Abreu was credited with the save for Los Angeles, his 6th of the season.
Los Angeles used a clutch at-bat from Austin Meadows to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Angels ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Luis did what Luis does," said Los Angeles manager Mark A.
Los Angeles is now 15-21, while Milwaukee is 16-22.
