Atlanta Defeated By Nationals, 7-6
|
The Washington Nationals racked up a win at Truist Park, bumping off the Atlanta Braves, 7-6. John Means, who started for Washington, pitched effectively for his team. Washington reliever Seranthony Dominguez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dedniel Nunez. Griffin Jax closed out the game, earning his 8th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mike Tauchman? The Washington center fielder had a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Nationals on top, 7-6. For the game, Tauchman had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Means.
With the win, Washington goes to 20-23, while the Braves fall to 15-28.
