The Texas Rangers defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 7-5, in part because of designated hitter J.D. Martinez. Martinez hit 3 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring three times for the Rangers. Camilo Doval picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Jose Leclerc was tagged with the loss. The win has Texas at 16-28.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Martinez hit a changeup from Jose Leclerc for a 2-run home run. The Rangers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Martinez.
